June 12th 2006. Earl & Terry at Snetterton.

Our second visit to Snetterton in Norfolk. A very hot day, and when Earl was out with an instructor, an errant cone on the "Esses" (you can just see it on the right in the photo) hit the car. It pulled the speedo cable out of the gearbox, and pulled half of the back wing away from the body work. That finished the car for the day - it was just to dangerous to continue. A good day apart from that!

We had struggled a bit with two of the bends. (For those who know these things, the first two out of the pits - Riches and Sear). We just felt it would go faster round Riches but couldn't see how, and we suffered chronic understeer on Sear. Eventually we started to control the understeer on Sear with the throttle, but Riches has us beat. After lunch, Earl went out with an instructor, and was shown how to do it. He arrived back busting to go out and show Terry, but, as reported above, the car was now in need of repairs, (here) so exiting Riches at around the "ton" will have to wait till next time.
